What stood out to me from this week was "Yahweh-to-the-rescue." I thought about how when I was little and got hurt my parents would come to the rescue and help me and make sure I was all right. They came as many times as I needed them. They didn't say one day, "Oh this is the 50th time she got hurt, she's all right." They came to my rescue every time I needed them. Mommy-and-daddy-to-the-rescue.
But how much more powerful is it that we have Yahweh-to-the-rescue? When we are hurting from sin or separation from him, and we call out to him, he comes to the rescue. He comes to immerse us in the spirit and life of God. And like the devo says, its not just a one time thing. Jesus wants to baptize us in and with his love and life every chance he gets. He WANTS to come and rescue us and pour out his spirit on us. Yahweh-to-the-rescue!
