Get on my level

Hey guys, so something Iv always had trouble understanding is who Jesus is because when ever I asked I got answers like he's your king and he's the saviour of all. But I found that its really hard to relate to a king or the saviour of all when your an 18 year old kid. So while I was reading I found it interesting to know that the meaning of The son of man is, simply human. My mind was blown because for some reason I just always thought of it as he is the over lord of all mankind which when I think about it now is kinda ridiculous, even though its partly true. I found today, that God sent his only son to be THE son of man, a mere human, just so he could get only my level and relate to me.
