Stronger than Water

There were many times during my time serving as a barney last summer that I found myself sweating in the kitchen, working over a hot stove scrambling to make five pots worth of food on four burners for burrito night and stressing all the while. At those moments I wanted nothing more than to run through the boat and off the back deck into the refreshing water to restore my physical and emotional energy and rejuvenate myself. I was seeking my own solution for my my fatigue and weakness, when God holds in store something much more powerful than water. With each dunking we receive in the Holy Spirit we come back renewed and given new life through a power much stronger than we could ever hope to possess on our own. God picks us up and throws us into his pool of mercy of the Holy Spirit and if we're lucky our splash will be big enough that we can make waves and those ripples can overflow and we can share the Holy Spirit with those not yet testing the waters.
