Happy Easter!!!

Last week it was so cool to go through the devotional and be reminded daily that Jesus was the LAMB!  Not just the little lamb that I saw next to the fluffy bunny's on the Easter Egg dying kit at my in-laws but the LAMB who suffered.  The Lamb who pulls the spotlight onto Himself.  He came to replace all the sacrificial lambs and (all) sacrifices forever.  He defeated SIN not sins but SIN itself.  WOW! Our all powerful God walked this earth as a gentle sacrificial Lamb knowing full well His end. Death on a cross.  The most humiliating way to die.  Being at our grandma's house this weekend, the topic of Jesus' death on a cross came about and grandma said "I don't like to see the drama" (her church does a re-enactment of the scorning and crucifixion of Jesus).

Who likes to see the Lamb being sacrificed?  Nobody... I haven't met one person who has seen The Passion of the Christ and thought... "suffering couldn't have been that bad", or "I enjoyed that movie."  Jesus the Lamb walked the earth sharing about His Father's love. Jesus took our place! NOBODY wants to see a lamb die, especially not Grandma Lancaster!   "He is the one great final sacrifice- who fulfills all that is foreshadowed in all the sacrifices! (21 Johnson, Darrel Who Is Jesus?)"

"Ask John the Baptist- Who is Jesus? "Look", John says.  'Jesus is the lamb of God!  He is the one who takes away the sin of the world.  He is the one who is sacrificed before God instead of you and me!  He is the one who takes away SIN- yours and mine.'" (Staff Devo pg 3 Chapter 1)
