Children at Christmas

When you give a child a gift at Christmas, their faces light up just when you hand them the wrapped gift. they don't know what is under the wrappings, or what the purpose of this gift is, but they want it. They fall to their knees tearing at the paper before they even hit the ground. To them, you are the greatest person in the entire world. When they finally ravage the paper, they lift off the lid of the box, and under it is the new sweat shirt they wanted. They throw it on and refuse to take it off for the next couple of weeks. But after about a month, they start wearing their old sweat shirt again because it is comfortable and familiar. They only throw on the one you gave them when your around, or when its convenient.

This describes some Christians' lives. I definitely guilty of this. I used  to use the gift of Christ, His forgiving of my sins, only when it is convenient. I am working hard to fix this problem in my life.
