"light of the world you stepped down into darkness. open my eyes, let me see." is the first thing that popped into my head while going through this. I relate trusting the light to trusting the process.

When the Israelites were leaving egypt, God went before them, leading them by way of a pillar of fire at night. They didnt know what was going to happen or where exactly they were going, but fundamentally, i feel like trust that this pillar was more than enough was necessary.

In similar fashion, i feel that the process of trusting God while not seeing much further ahead is an awesome but trying journey. In that trust i have to give up control or else i will wander off on my own. and during the process of trusting, God shines a light into the dark areas of my life as well. So not only is he leading me on the lit path, but he is illuminating my performance based attitudes. it can lead to me trying to cover it back up or letting it stay exposed and give it up.
