I think it’s easier for me to relate to Jesus as the one
with all authority and glory, the one Kingdom is never threatened and never
destroyed, the one who will never pass away but will always be in reign and
control forever. This almighty, omnipotent God who rules over all is something
that isn’t difficult for me to believe because He created everything and has
control over everything. It’s almost easier to view Him as this distant, yet all-powerful
being that we cannot see nor will we ever understand. What really struck me was
how Jesus is fully human and that He also recognizes that and reaffirms to his
disciples 76 times His real full humanity. It’s like He was saying 76 times “I
stepped down from heaven to become human and to humbly serve all of mankind. I
am here, with you in the struggle, as your fellow human companion.” As a human,
He still is tempted by the same sin and presented with the same struggles, but
He, by the will and grace of God is able to overcome all temptations and live a
perfect life. The Son of Man stepped down from His throne to be obedient to the
Lord’s call of being the sacrifice for mankind and to offer humanity hope
again. HE DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THIS: He was obedient to the Lord because of
how much He loved us. Shoot dang. What? Jesus, you are TOO GOOD. Thank you for
following and accepting the call of becoming fully human so that we can imitate
your life on earth and know that our Father understands our burdens and our
struggle for sin because He lived on this earth and was tempted just as you and
I are today. So now the Lord isn’t just this far-away, almighty being whose
Kingdom will never perish, but He is the Son of Man who became fully human so
that I can live and have hope today, following the example He set on earth.
